Was too busy/sleepy/lazy to blog earlier...

Taking a leaf out of Toad's blogging techniques I've decided to try subheading my eventful blog...

Ex. KINGKONG
I so wanted to type this right after the meeting as I had a 2 hour break.. but I decided to but time to more productive use and study Computing instead.

So the tasked fell on me to gather the rest of the AOCC (Armour Officer Cadet Course for the benefit of the lucky non-military).. though most didn't want to skip lecture.. those from NTU couldn't make it.. those working were stuck at their desks.. those overseas didn't managed to catch the flight back.. about 10+ people turned up at Munchie Monkey for the mini-gathering.. There's something about gatherings like this.. where you've seen people you haven't seen for very long and you cant find a common topic straightaway and end up either talking about our cadet days again or about our individual different army lives after commissioning.. It's not the type of close friends buddy-type gathering but more of hey-what-have-you-been-doing-nowadays type of catching up. Talked a lot to Chen Jianwen especially (coz he came over to my room 1st before going over to MM) and his ever dramatic life in business.. how pageant has changed him.. how business girls bitch.. his gf.. our aspirations.. blah blah...

So MAJ Victor came about 1/2 hour later.. still the same.. tall.. intimidating (less though coz he was smiling more).. FYI MAJ Victor or as we fondly address by his callsign Mike-one-nine was this tyrannical sadistic Course Commander of our who would make us do 188 counts of 8 jumping jacks in 20 minutes with SBO and rifle (if you think it's easy go do it yourself!) just because we didn't fire off all the GPMG rounds in Wallaby.. the guy who would make us prep the M113 (an armoured vehicle) for operation in 10 mins and tear it down in 5 mins over and over again.. the guy who made my platoon do log-PT jst because we were doing our battle course to slowly.. the guy who kicked sand into one of my coursemates face while in pumping position which caused him to Out of Course.. the legendary 'A' OC from 46SAR that tore off a 2SG's rank just because he lost his way.. who smashed a man's mess tin with a 10-pound hammer just because it was not 'up to standard'.....

And this man was so incredibly friendly during the gathering that we couldn't get used to it. He's doing his Masters now.. will be in NUS for 1.5 years.. and started asking how we all have been doing after commissioning... as a friend. Chattering.. joking.. laughing.. it kinda felt like this was his true self.. and not the tyrant he was just 2 years back.

Though memories still flash back.. as we were talking about live firing in Wallaby..... My memories of live firing there were traumatic because I was so stressed to fire off all my rounds especially for the big weapons on the vehicle becuase they were to hard to fire... And when I asked myself why was I so scared? I stole a glance at that friendly man beside me.... it was because of him.

So I guess we'll see more of him around. But I would still prefer to keep the image of the monsterous MAJ Victor rather than this good ol' Victor Lee. Coz he is what binds our course together...

MH's Grandmother's Funeral
MH was my driver in unit.. problematic he was.. always getting himself into trouble which I had to save him.. had a lousy temper which he curbed after millions of talks with me... which i fought for his stay-out because his grandmother was his only kin.. Did a house visit on him once.. That was why I felt particularly the need to go to his grandmother's funeral now that she had passed away from stroke. Well.. now MH's alone in this world.

Guess he was surprised to see me there.. talked to him and caught up with him.. more mature now.. more mallow.. guess it's for the good. 4 more months to ORD well... to him he feels that he can't get out.. but somehow I feel that he coming out will only throw him into the unsheltered brutal world. All these I didnt' say though... Hope he can soar with his aspirations.

Ch.E.S.S Special Projects
Never did I think I would be so involved in Ch.E.S.S (Chemical and Environmental Engineering Students' Society not some stupid chess club). Did the bash poster for Adrian until late into the night.. went to buy stuff for baking after lessons together.. and tomorrow they will be coming over to bake cookies. Haa so exciting.. guess who's coming over again?

What else will I be doing? I'd be mending the booth for the bazaar.. I'll be selling tickets for the bash.. I'll be selling flowers hopefully on V-Day itself.. and I'm contemplating doing a flash for the bash advertisement.. like what i did for ChrisCo...

Funkamania Finals
Music-Sheares was the team I went down to support.. but turned out that all other contestants were SO MUCH BETTER! Sorry to say but I particularly liked the KR one who were so creative with their props and their costumes and steps and all.. and the Little White Riding Hood team with Junqiang and Jiexiao was amazing too.. totally awesome.. like how they can jump in and out of their formation and still retain the pyramid shape.. the 'fight scene' in the dance.. SMU's dance team turned out to be quite spectacular too surprisingly...

Though the winners were unexpected.. but it was truely a treat for the night.. moreover it's free! Sometimes I was thinking if I can dance like that.. but everyone has their limitations I guess.. Haa that sounds like a lousy excuse for my laziness.. ok I admit if I trained super hard I'll transform from this short-fat-inflexible Chio to the stillshort-fit-flexible-breakdancer Chio.. but well.. I guess the easy way out would still be the former. Haa

Anyway.. cheers to the Sheares team. You've done the Hall proud.

So the week has passed.. with minimal tutorials done and even a more miserable amout of revision and studying. here comes 4th week.. and time to start mugging hard boy.. holidays are way over. Someone tell me how I can overcome this huge inertia?

Class 95's songs at night are really heavenly....
