boy how long have I not touched this blog? whoa this is the record of ultimate busyness.. took me a little while before I decided to tread on this page again to start bloggin.. i've been jotting down little things I wanted to say these days so looking at the amount I have to write kinda increased the inertia.

But well.. here I come.. and here it goes.. in reverse-chronological order...

Retrospect - CMB Concert
So this is what's keeping me busy this past week.. after all the gruelling mid-sems.. DANCE. I've seriously never danced so much in my life! Grooving to Destiny Child's Lose my Breath really took my breath away.. literally. Yutaki cheorographed a terribly difficult dance!! Even ChinTeng said it was a level 4000 module dance.. though it looked nice if the moves were executed well.. but I just couldn't. But it did really feel shiok mastering the dance (to my standards) and not forgetting the moves. Sometimes I think it's quite a waste to dance it once only but it was truely a memorable experience. Thanks for all those who shouted my name when I appeared on stage.. haha though I didn't quite execute the moves sharply and ahem made a wrong turn haa..

Watever the case.. photos of the concert (pre and post concert rather) are here:

I guess this put a nice end to a dancing career in Sheares... I won't join ShearesDance again next year coz I'd just wanna concentrate on what I'm supposed to be. Though dance was a great experience! Good luck to all Sheares Hall dancers! Will continue to give ultimate support!!

NUS Open House 2005
KR threw in their all in this open house.. their whole lobby looked like an amusement park in the waiting.. with huge banners and balloons and streamers and a huge man and even an ice cream stall at the door to welcome the freshies.

That night after DnD.. we knew we were trashed. Our huge banner and rearranged couches were miserably pathetic compared to our neighbours. Even after bringin out the Rag fin and the VC man didn't help much. Tech Crew's amplifier burst and yeah we didn't have music... and there was the impending conflict that SECC (Sheares Exposure Camp Committee.. the camp I was in together with the rest of the MafBrothers) had to help ERC (External Relations Committee) with the tours and stuff...

But everything seemed to fall in place for SECC.. we only intended to give out flyers and collect emails during open house but we decided we had to do more. Zibin suggested wearing the DnD costumes to attract attention.. and I suggested using placards and laptops blasting music to attract attention. And Voila! We immediately embarked on our very first worksession (yes at 2am after DnD for goodness sake!) to make the placards while I printed the photos. Not toad's standard of painting but still visible from far.. and everyone of us had to catch only an hour+ of sleep before fighting the war tomorrow..

And to the battlefield of MPSH we went.. and what an impact we created! Weijie's Sun Wukong costume.. Chye's Arabian suit.. Zibin the Coyboy and Chio the Japanese priest with the sword turned heads at the MPSH.. Could feel the war winning at our court when even people from KR came up to me and said "whoa Sheares Hall.. ~respect"

Weijie the SunWuKong and me th Japanese Priest Posted by Hello

Apparantly the other camp back at Hall didn't do badly too.. using Juli's (albeit low-class technique) of slutty girls to bring in the people.. and of course the Bus Uncle to stop closer to Sheares Hall. I mean if even the President of KR bothered to go and complain means we were affecting them quite a bit.

Peihao and gang (junior PCs from 42) were like damn impressed with Sheares Hall and wanted very much to come in.. whoa what an impact yeah?

Back to the MPSH battlefront.. at the end of the day what did we have?
390 names
(mostly girls of course)

We only had about 150 last year. What a good start!

Enigma - An Eastern Affair
Yup that's the theme of Sheares Hall Dinner and Dance.. which turned out to be much of a reliving Prom days.. Pageant.. Photo taking.. Posh costumes.. Block A gang bothered to rent costumes (which weren't that expensive.. about $30 bucks) for the event which was what everyone was supposed to do.. Hai guess we would have too if we weren't desperately poor.. Adriene and Jeremy were the eventual Pageant Queen and King.. after much hype.. the results were quite obvious actually.. coz they really performed well.. and Estee got her much deserved Ms. Photogenic award.

The only thing though.. my camera batteries died halfway. Thought it had enough stamina to last even after Chem Eng Bash.. but guess not. Rule of the thumb: Always charge batteries before any big event. Either that or get spare batteries.. but still charge both of them!

Even so.. I still took a credible amounnt of pictures... check them out

Block D
Originally meant to be a 激将法 turned sour. But I don't really care. Was reading Shyuan's blog about CMB concert yesterday on how on the seniors are.. cracking jokes and hyping up the crowd.. which she described as somewhat a dying feeling in the block. Come next year and beyond I believe our batch guys can do it if we want.. but what about the senior girls? I mean even for a small event like Dodgeball later in the day no girls would wanna participate.. while during the meeting last night I see girls from block A, B, C, E.. not only 1 but at least a few of them. And who from our block came down? Stella, Belle and Xiangying. Wait don't clap yet.. they're from HAC.

After 1 year in Block Comm this feeling became from understanding to disappointment to simply giving-up-hope. I mean doing so much for the block what do we get in return? Participation at least? No. What's the point of having weekly block suppers if only a few cats turn up at the rooftop? Mostly guys. WHat's the point of coming up just to take a few bites then going back to your rooms? So where's the intended Block Interaction? What's the point of other committees organising Hall events if only Block Comm goes? And I think I was really pissed and tired some time ago that I flared up on MSN at the particularly off people. I mean if you wanna stay in your rooms wat for stay in hall? Wouldn't staying in PGP be better for you and me?

Whatever.. I guess the reality can't be changed now. It's too rooted. Gone are the days of IBG when you would still actively participate in more than 1 sport and stretch yourself to the limits.. get trashed and stay close. Gone are the days when you would go down and support our own block mates even on Sundays.

Gone.

So cheering girls. Fill up the slots ok? =)

Sheares Exposure Camp Committee
This was one big thing bothering me some time back.. but I guess there's no point talking about it now.. i'm just so glad the council gang is back in action again. And so glad that MQ took up the chair so I can continue with my holiday plans. Glad that those who wanted to join but didn't join initially finally joined after much persuasion. Though the composition now is not the ideal structure I might have wanted it to be.. but guess I have no say. haa.. just hope that we would have fun organising the camp.. just as emily had hoped us to have.

Dare - Chem Engine Bash @ Rouge
Turned out to be better than ANY of the Sheares Hall bashes I've gone to. Yes the girls do matter. Can't believe my class girls are just so on. Haa.. of course there were the seniors who were equally if not more hot on the dance floor.. 'Nuff said. Lost the 感觉 to talk about it. So too bad lor. haa it shall remain a sweet memory for me ;)

Canon IXUS 40
Haha.. after much considerition and a hint of brashness I forked out the minute bit of my reserve account (I invested the rest) to plunge it in the Canon IXUS 40 at the Sheares Hall Bazaar. And wat a cool gadget it was!! Though I'm still experimenting with the best techniques for better pictures it was generally a happy investment. Even my mother was mesmerised by it.. despite buying for herself a Fuji Finepix E500 less than a month ago. Almost wanted to sell the Finepix for her but she didn't want to in the end.. so well.. my family has 2 digital cameras.

And yes.. this little gadget made me poorer than ever before.

Next up: IPod Mini / Creative Zen Micro.

Quek's right.. I shouldn't be talking about all these on the blog.. What if she's secretly reading? Haha.. then I'd just die in her face.

But I think I scored a lot of points recently. And she wants to come into Sheares.. of course I'm desperately pulling all my strings to get her in. Bwahahhaaa..

Lalala... ok you've reached the end. Look at the time? You know I actually fell asleep last night while blogging on my bed? I woke up at 11 to continue blogging and it's now 1pm! Ok I have to do have to do my maths now. Maybe revise a bit of CEP before i go for lecture later..

Ooh lectures... =)
