The day started out strange today due to a small mistake that I made.. somehow i felt its after effects continuously probing me throughout the day. Maybe I'm to sensitive.. or maybe I'm too tired. I should stop all these late night blogging. Ok. This shall be a fast one.
I can't believe I'm blogging about our cheaponehnehness but yes, we hitched on a free guided tour when we went to the Jewish Great Synagogue.. MQ, Zibin and Xiuying paid for the guided tour while the rest of us just blatantly tagged along behind while the guide was talking. Haha.. what cheats we were. But to be fair.. I wasn't really listening also. Just caught the gist of everything and somehow can't keep my eyelids open when she came to the boring historical parts of the talk. NUS trains us well to sleep during lectures.. even on holiday.
In an attempt to utilize our transport pass fully, we took a tram/bus right to Castle Hill where we had a good top view of Budapest. And what do we do there? Photowhore! The place is actually quite big.. as we spent the entire morning there.
For the 2nd day consecutively, the rain did not spare us.. forcing us to head for shelter/lunch at a chinese restaurant. And this was when I broke the 2nd of my food principles in Europe:
No eating MNC fast foods (Macs, KFC, Burger King) Ate my first Macs 2 days ago after the rest of the guys dabaoed it back as our dinner...
No eating Chinese food since I can cook for myself for so much cheaper. I just had my first Chinese meal in 2 days.
Oh well. boh bian lah.. How to be a spoilsport and eat something else? To be fair the servings were really huge. Uncle Vincent and his merry men should never come set up a shop in Budapest. They will be stoned by the locals for being terribly giamkoo in their serving portions.
The next on-top-of-the-world place that we went was Gellért Hill.. where the birds eye view of Budapest itself was amazingly superb! It was a long terrible climb up.. and I guess everyone was tired.. and we didn't do the jump shots and video amidst the fantastic scenery. Sigh. What a waste.
Well, we met Hongjun in the evening and he brought us to this place for nice cheap palacintas! Palacinta is actually simply Crepe.. much smaller though.. . They tasted really good and sounded cheap initially but after serious converion.. didn't turn out to be that cheap after all. Still, had to take a photo.
Ok damn sleepy now.. In fact my eyes were drooping as i type this post. Must be the beer at the pub just now.. Going to sleep now.. Hope tomorrow will be a better day.
