Vienna Day 2
Tuesday, May 20, 2008
We awoke to showers in the city which turned it into a giant freezer. I swear it was so cold we could do the blow-mist-out-of-our breath thing.
We visited the Summer Palace in the morning and i was sure this time that if the Austrian King were to visit his neighbour SLovak king, he would burst out in laughter. The Palace grounds were beautiful! Both the inside and outside. Hard to describe in words. Wait for photos ba. But maybe even photos won't justify it's grandeur and beauty.
Met up with zhiqian there. Where we took lotsa paparazzi shots of the him and his old flame (Sarah Kueh Xiuying). Haha fun.
6 of us (all except gabe, weijian and zibin) went to this museum which we thought would be fun and interesting as described by Lonely Planet. Turns out to be an ART MUSEUM which we exited the museum after 15 minutes!! What a waste of the €4.50 entrance fee. Kanasai.
We headed down to the theme park after that though. It wasn't exactly disneyland type of theme park, quite old school, but we had a good round of bumper cars! Almost paid for the old school carosel with REAL HORSES!! Oh luckily I was sensible enough to figure out spending S$5 on horses running in small circles was a waste of money.
Dinner today was super uber fantastic! It was a place recommended by Zhiqian's Austrian friend. It's an interesting place with an interesting menu. Mq ordered a 2m long sausage! As for the guys, we shared this meal which consisted of Weiner Schnitzers (vienesse cutlets.. We had turkey cutlets.. Yum), pork chops, chicken wings, fries served in a huge sword. Yes, in all babaric sense all the meat was pierced through a sword which we had to rip them off before eating them. And the turkey Schnitzers were wow, superb. Even now as i'm drafting this post can even smell it. Droolz...
Spent a grand total of €52 today! Whoa!! Must start cutting my expenditure already man.
